VinylMaster Xpt’s Cutfile Editor

Cutfile Editor
The Cutfile Editor provides a number of advanced Artwork management tools and features to assist you in getting your Cutfiles to your Vinyl Cutter (Plotter) outlined below.

Speed-Weed BoxesSpeed & Weed-Boxes
Easily add and edit Speed and Weed-Boxes, which have been designed to reduce the time it takes to weed out the excess vinyl around your Artwork. They do this by isolating objects from each other within the artwork. They also help you to avoid accidentally pulling out parts of the job as it’s being weeded.

Chopping GuideChopping Guide
Add Chopping Guides which create an automatic overlap based on the value set along with adding alignment marks, which can be used to greatly reduce the need to measure in situ or on-site.

Easy-Lift MarksEasy Lift-Marks
Also apply Easy Lift-Marks which greatly assist in weeding text and objects by producing a special cut in each hole that allows you easily pull out the excess vinyl in one piece, as shown above.

Alignment Marks

Alignment MarksAlignment & Hanging Marks
Alignment Marks assist you in lining up Cutfiles and Artwork that has been split up over several Cutfiles. Alignment Marks can also be used to perfectly position your work on-site by placing one half on the job (on location) and using the half to perfectly align (hang) the job to the first half. Alignment Marks are also particularly helpful in lining up overlapping tiles i.e. where you’ve had to cut your artwork over several pieces of vinyl (tiles) because the Artwork is wider than the vinyl itself.

Overwide Artwork (Cutfiles)

Overwide/Overlong Cutfiles (Tile Overlap)
Cut Documents let you easily handle artwork which is larger than the media you’re working with i.e. where the artwork is physically wider or longer than the media (vinyl/paper) you have loaded into the vinyl cutter (plotter), as shown above.

Working with Oversize Artwork

Setting an Overlap
To set a page bleed (tile overlap) is easily done by typing in a value in Overlap as shown above. The overlap is represented as two dotted lines showing where the two pages overlap each other and when cut and laid out the overlapping pieces fit together perfectly.

Nesting automatically positions your Artwork, based on the Groups, within the Cutfile to minimize layout time and vinyl wastage, as shown in the example above.

Cut current Cut Document

Once you are ready to cut, the Cut current Cut Document module takes the Cutfiles you have prepared in the Cut Document and provides you with several options which you can apply to each Cutfile for the Vinyl Spooler.
